During the 2010 AGM Meeting, WFC was lucky enough to have Dave Cade “Didymo Dave” from DOC, as our guest speaker. Dave is a passionate man and that passion was evident as told us of the environmental challenges he faces every day. Dave reminded us of the importance to maintain our equipment to stop evasive algae’s from spreading.

People are spreading algae’s, and people are getting complacent, so remember to always clean your equipment between different waterways, North or South Island!!

Commencing 1st October 2008 felt soles are banned from all New Zealand sports fisheries. The following rule applies to all areas and is included in Schedule One of the Angler's Notice published in the latest New Zealand Gazette.

2.4 No person shall fish for sports fish by using felt-soled waders or footwear incorporating or having attached a sole of felted, matted or woven fibrous material when sports fishing.
