Rules 1996: Summary
Ben Thomas President's Trophy
To the senior club member, who in the opinion of the club President makes the greatest contribution to fostering the aims of WFFC in the year ending 31 March.

Sporting Life Junior Angler of the Year
To the junior club member making the greatest contribution to the goals of WFFC in the year ending 31 March.

Wellington Flyfishers Competition Cup
To the winner of the annual club fly fishing competition.

Hunting & Fishing Trophy
For the heaviest fish taken by a senior member of WFFC in the year ending 31 March.

Stirling Sports Trophy (Grand Arcade)
For the heaviest fish taken by a junior member of Wellington Flyfishers Club in the year ending 31 March.

Wallace Condition Factor Trophy
To the club member taking the trout with the best calculated condition factor in the year ending 31 March.

Wellington Flyfishers Club Literary Prize
To the club member who, in the opinion of the Awards Subcommittee has written the outstanding article related to fly
fishing published in the Club Newsletter in the year ending in the April issue.

Wellington Flyfishers Club Photographic Prize
To the club member who, in the opinion of the Awards Subcommittee has, taken the outstanding photograph relating to fly fishing over the period since the last AGM.

Wellington Flyfishers Club Newsletter Cover Competition
Entries for the newsletter cover are submitted at the July club meeting and the winning entry is selected by ballot by attending club members. The winning entry is used for the newsletter cover from the November issue each year. Entries may be any suitable media: originall artwork or photograph.

Rules
The Awards Subcommittee
Each year the Committee of the Wellington Flyfishers Club shall appoint an Awards Subcommittee comprised of the following: The Club Secretary (Chairperson), The President, the Vice President, the Past President, The Newsletter Editor, and two other club members.

Ben Thomas President's Trophy
  1. The award shall be called the "Ben Thomas President's Trophy".

  2. The award shall be made annually to the club member who makes the greatest contribution to fostering the aims of
    Wellington Flyfishers Club in the year ending 31 March.

  3. The award shall be decided by the club President.


Sporting Life Junior Angler of the Year
  1. The award shall be known as the "Sporting Life Junior Angler of the Year".

  2. The award shall be made to the junior angler who, in the opinion of the Awards Subcommittee, has made the greatest contribution to the aims of Wellington Flyfishers Club over the period since the previous award.

  3. Nominations must be supported with a signed statement from a senior club member.

  4. The awardee must be a registered junior member of Wellington Flyfishers Club in the year of the award and hold a valid junior licence at some stage during the year of the award.

  5. The decision of the Awards Subcommittee of WFFC shall be final and binding.


Wellington Flyfishers Competition Cup
  1. The award shall be known as the "Wellington Flyfishers Competition Cup".

  2. It shall be awarded annually to the winner of the Wellington Flyfisher Club's fly fishing competition.


Hunting & Fishing Trophy
  1. The award shall be known as the "Hunting & Fishing Trophy".

  2. The award shall be for the heaviest trout taken on artificial fly by a senior club member of Wellington Flyfishers Club in the year ending 31 March.

  3. The awardee must be a registered member of Wellington Flyfishers Club and have held a valid licence when the catch was made.

  4. It is preferred, but not mandatory, that nominations be witnessed by another club member giving details of where, when, and by which method the fish was taken and the weight of the fish.

  5. The decision of the Awards Subcommittee of WFFC shall be final and binding.


Stirling Sports Trophy (Grand Arcade)
  1. The award shall be known as the "Stirling Sports Trophy".

  2. The recipient must be a currently affiliated member of Wellington Flyfishers Club and a Junior Licence holder at the time of capture.

  3. The award shall be for the heaviest fish taken on an artificial fly in the year ending 31 March.

  4. It is preferred, but not mandatory, that nominations be accompanied by a signed statement from an independent witness.

  5. The award shall be decided by the Awards Subcommittee of Wellington Flyfishers Club.

  6. The decision of the Awards Subcommittee of WFFC shall be final and binding.


Wallace Condition Factor Trophy
  1. The award shall be known as the "Wallace Condition Factor Trophy".

  2. The award shall be to the club member taking, on artificial fly, a trout, 35cm or more in length, with the best condition factor, in the year ending 31 March.

  3. It is preferred, but not mandatory, that nominations and details of the catch be certified by a statement from a witness, giving details of where caught, when caught and by whom.

  4. The entry must be from a currently registered member of Wellington Flyfishers Club, holding a valid fishing licence.

  5. The condition factor (CF) shall be calculated according to the following formula: CF = (weight in grams multiplied by 3612.8) divided by length in centimetres cubed.

  6. The decision of the Awards Subcommittee of WFFC shall he final and binding.


Wellington Flyfishers Club Literary Prize
  1. The award shall be known as "Wellington Flyfishers Club Literary Prize".

  2. The award shall be to the club member who, in the opinion of the Awards Subcommittee, has written the best article related to fly fishing published in the Club Newsletter in the year ending in the April issue.

  3. The Award shall be decided by a judge selected by the Awards Subcommittee of WFFC.


Wellington Flyfishers Club Annual Photographic Prize
  1. The award shall be known as "Wellington Flyfishers Club Annual Photographic Prize".

  2. The award shall be to the club member who, in the opinion of the Awards Subcommittee, has taken the
    outstanding photograph relating to fly fishing over the period since the last AGM.

  3. Nominations must be supported by a signed statement from the candidate, giving details of where, when, and by
    whom the photograph was taken and what camera was used.

  4. The Award shall be decided by a photographic adviser appointed by the Awards Subcommittee of WFFC.
